Bloomnet Express

5 min read

Overview #

Bloomnet Express allows your shop to receive orders placed through third-party delivery platforms such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Instacart. When a customer places an order on one of these platforms, the order is routed to a participating Bloomnet florist. You'll be responsible for confecting the order and delivery will be handled by a courier from the delivery app.

Express orders are designed for speed, simplicity, and streamlined delivery. They follow a faster fulfillment model than standard orders and require immediate attention once received.

What are the main differences between Express orders and regular orders? #

  • Where the orders appear: Express orders appear in a separate section of your Bloomnet POS or a separate app called BloomLink Express for those using third-party POS systems. This helps you clearly distinguish time-sensitive Express orders from your regular queue. Note that you can only accept or reject orders via the Express tab of your Bloomnet POS or the separate BloomLink Express app. Order confirmations or messages sent via BloomLink for Express orders may result in the order being cancelled.
  • Faster acceptance and fulfillment: Express orders must be accepted and confected within 40 minutes. Because of the accelerated timeline, it's important to prioritize these orders as soon as they appear.
  • Delivery is handled for you: Express orders are picked up by couriers from the delivery app (Uber Eats, Instacart, or DoorDash). Your shop does not need to coordinate delivery, which is why the recipient's address is not visible.
  • Limited, streamlined catalog: Express orders come from a reduced, limited catalog designed specifically for shops to be able to confect in a short period of time.

How do I opt in to receive Express orders? #

  1. Let us know you are interested in receiving Express orders by filling out this form. Your Bloomnet representative will be in touch with more details about the program and to confirm your hours of operation.
  2. If you are a Bloomnet POS (BMS) user, you will not need to install any additional programs. You can skip steps 3-6.
  3. If you use a third-party POS, you'll need to install BloomLink Express and create login credentials. Before registering, make sure your BloomLink Client is up to date (version 7.0.8). You can check which version you are on by looking in the bottom left corner of the BloomLink Client. If it is below 7.0.8, restart the BloomLink Client and an update window will automatically appear. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade. If restarting does not trigger the update, call 866-256-6663.
  4. Make sure you are using Google Chrome. Go to express.bloomnet.net/register and click "Register Now".
  5. Enter your BloomLink credentials to connect your shop. Complete the requested fields to create your BloomLink Express login credentials. These can be the same or different from your BloomLink login credentials.
  6. To install the desktop app, click the monitor icon at the top right of the Google Chrome browser. Click "Install" when prompted. Once installed, a BloomLink Express icon will appear on your desktop and task bar for easy access.
  7. It takes roughly 2 weeks for your shop to be eligible to start receiving orders once you have registered for the program. You'll receive an email and general message when your shop is live.

What if I forgot my login credentials for BloomLink Express? #

If you forgot your login credentials for BloomLink Express, you can reset your password by clicking "Forgot Password?" on the bottom right.

How do I know if I have a new Express order? #

If you are a Bloomnet POS (BMS) user, you'll see new orders on the Express tab of your Bloomnet Management System (BMS).

If you use a third-party POS, you'll need to ensure that you have BloomLink Express open on your internet browser (Google Chrome recommended) or desktop. You will hear a notification whenever you have a new Express order as long as your volume is turned up. If you are not hearing new order notifications, check if your notifications are turned off by looking at the right corner of the web browser. If you see a muted speaker icon, that means that your notifications are turned off. To enable sound, you'll need to click on the muted speaker in the address bar and select "Always allow sound".

If you do not reject the order within 10 minutes, the order will be confirmed and you are expected to have it ready within 30 minutes, at which point the courier will arrive.

How does pricing work for Express orders? #

Florists will be paid the same rate as regular Bloomnet orders. Delivery fees are $8.00 per order regardless of distance but Bloomnet is covering $5.00 of the delivery fee for a limited time, meaning florists only pay $3.00 for delivery per order.

Price change requests are not permitted for Express orders.

Can I temporarily suspend Express orders? #

Yes, you can temporarily suspend Express orders by contacting Customer Support.

If you'd like to suspend all orders, including 1-800-Flowers.com orders, you can do so in BloomLink by following these steps.

Can I use a third party POS or BloomLink to manage my Bloomnet Express orders? #

No, Express orders can only be managed via the Express tab of your Bloomnet POS (BMS), the BloomLink Express website, or the BloomLink Express app. These should be used to accept and reject orders. All other messaging (price changes, delivery confirmations) is not applicable to Express orders, as price changes are not permitted and delivery is handled by the delivery platform.

Best Practices for Managing Express Orders #

  1. Monitor the queue consistently
  2. Keep your volume up to ensure you don't miss incoming orders
  3. Keep core floral varieties for Express arrangements easily accessible
  4. Stage for easy pickup so couriers can retrieve orders quickly without disturbing your team
