Getting Your Shop Ready For Fall Orders

Fall is finally here! The kids have been back in school for a couple of weeks and the weather for most of us is starting to cool down. Everyone is getting ready for football season, homecomings, Halloween and Thanksgiving. These are a few great opportunities for you to think about promoting the fall season to generate some sales and traffic for your Shop.

Time to review your flower order and change the color scheme to fall colors (oranges, bronzes, yellows and darker colors). Think about creating special arrangements for football using the team colors for local high schools, colleges and pro teams. Homecoming Dances may need body flowers (corsages & boutonnieres), Halloween arrangements or centerpieces adds that special touch to make any party a success. Thanksgiving is an appropriate time to offer a couple different centerpieces, using one pillar candle or a couple of long tapered candles.

So, get creative, think about those arrangements you can use to showcase your shop’s talent, then review your current inventory of containers and baskets. Remember to check those boxes you put away from last year’s fall season and use them first before ordering any new ones. Baskets and Cornucopias are still good sellers along with some ceramic containers in the Halloween or Thanksgiving theme. Remember your candle supply and Mylar balloons as well.
